Shoot // Bohemian Wedding Inspiration Theme // California meets Yorkshire
Let me take you back to October 2017, I was in the States to shoot Amy + Rich’s wedding in Vegas and I found myself with a spare day to go on a little solo road trip. The plan was to head to get in the car, hit the open road and just take in the incredible landscape of the Nevada desert. I had no idea how much this little drive was going to mean to me.
So there I was driving along, windows down and Jimmy Eat World blasting through the radio and I happen upon a sign ‘California State Boarder 5 miles’. Well that was it, if I had chance to say hello to my favourite state while I was over there, I wasn’t going to miss it. I took the turn off and entered Death Valley, and as I hit the first bend it was as if the Universe was conspiring to set the most perfect playlist for me. the radio flipped to satellite and The Eagles burst through.
Actual goosebumps happened, you guys.
And that’s when this overwhelming wave of happiness, gratitude and a million other feelings I can never begin to fully explain washed over me. In that moment, everything felt right, like I was right where I was meant to be at that moment in time and the Universe was like, ‘hey you, I’ve got you.’ I wanted to bottle that feeling up, savour it, take it home and share it with the world.
So that’s how we end up here, with this shoot, my way of sharing this feeling with you. Bringing a bit of California and all those good feelings to a beautiful little corner of Yorkshire.
